About
Monica Colón is a Salvadoran/American writer from Texas. Her poems have appeared in SWWIM Every Day, The Dodge, Honey Literary, West Trestle Review, and elsewhere. She has received a Pushcart Prize nomination, a Best of the Net nomination, and the Iris N. Spencer Sonnet Award from West Chester University Poetry Center.
Monica has a B.A. in English Literature and Spanish from Wheaton College (IL). There, she developed an interest in the intersection of race, dis/ability, and linguistic justice in teaching writing. She is currently based in Chicago and works as a bilingual literacy tutor for Chicago Public Schools.
